Heemu ("we", "our", or "us") is a digital wellness application developed by SAP-SHARKS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Android application.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide:

• Gender preference (used for theme customization)
• App usage preferences (intervention mode, pause duration, theme color)
• List of apps you choose to limit
• Account information (if you sign in)

Information Collected Automatically:

• App usage statistics (which apps you open and for how long) — used only for screen time analytics shown to you
• Dhikr count and streak data (stored locally)
• Crash reports and basic device information

2. Permissions We Use

Accessibility Service: Heemu uses Android's Accessibility Service to detect when you open an app you have chosen to limit. We use this only to display the intervention screen (Dhikr or Quran verse). We do not read screen content, capture keystrokes, or monitor any activity beyond detecting which app is in the foreground.

Usage Stats Permission: Used to show you statistics about your screen time. This data stays on your device.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the core app blocking and intervention functionality
• To personalize your experience (themes, intervention type)
• To show you your usage statistics and progress
• To improve the app and fix bugs

4. Data Storage

Most of your data (preferences, dhikr count, app list) is stored locally on your device using Android's SharedPreferences and Hive database.

If you create an account, basic account data (email, preferences) is stored securely on Supabase servers (an encrypted PostgreSQL backend).

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — for account and backend services (only if you sign in)
• Google Play Services — for app distribution and crash reporting
• quran.com API — to fetch Quran verses (no personal data is sent)

6. Children's Privacy

Heemu is suitable for all ages but is not directed specifically at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

7. Your Rights

• You can uninstall the app at any time, which removes all locally stored data
• You can revoke Accessibility and Usage permissions in your phone's settings
• You can request deletion of your account data by contacting us

8. Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Data transmitted to our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
